In Fact, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) actually classifies Ritalin and Adderall as class 2 controlled substance, on par with cocaine and morphine, for this very reason.

Types: Class II (Schedule II Controlled Substance)

1. High abuse potential
2. Severe dependence liability

Amphetamines (e.g.   Adderall)

Methyphenidate (e.g  Ritalin, Concerta)
